Cute ambiance. Pretty delicious food, but teeny tiny portions so expect to spend here!! Would def come back and the reservations are easy for nyc.

Great flavor and service all around. Scallop with mango sauce was so refreshing, the mint on top wasn't overwhelming at all. Corn dumplings were surprisingly standout - I don't usually expect much from a dumpling app. We also ordered the rib (so soft, wtf wow) and they let us sit 30 mins beyond our time on a Friday. Not too loud or crowded, great color.

We tried four dishes and every single one of them is very delicious. Presentation of the food is gorgeous. My favorite is definitely the plantain } steak } yellowtail } tomato. But would recommend all of them. Inside is super cozy and lively. Recommend reserving early because it was packed when we arrived for our 8:30PM reservation.

Wowowowow! Blown away by the tasty food offered here! I absolutely loved the corn dumplings and the steak. The steak was so perfectly cooked and the corn dumplings had an incredible flavor that you really can't find anywhere else. The inside of this seemingly small restaurant was actually pretty big, but not much space between tables. It was a very lively and enjoyable dining experience. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Personally would skip the gumbo, but def come back to try the other dishes!

Really enjoyed my meal here. Knew this spot was related to Thursday Kitchen, which I remember enjoying but didn't blow me out of the water, so I had tempered expectations. However, I liked this place way more!! The Korean and Southern-cooking fusion comes through beautifully, in particular - the Gumbo!! GUMBO - plump small pieces of shrimp with a savory, rich broth that has a velvety texture and that gentle crisp from the plantains - don't miss out! CORN DUMPLINGS ** Perhaps my favorite bite of the meal, the gentle, soft skin of the dumpling and slight fragrance of the fennel with a savory, rich corn filling. Without meat, this dish manages to shine. CAULIFLOWER My friends liked this one the most, as it has this beautiful glaze and perfect fried cauliflower texture reminiscent of some of the best korean fried chicken. RICE WITH OCTOPUS Velvety risotto with a nice seafood flavor running throughout. The octopus was a BIT tough for our liking, but still good. OXTAIL SPRING ROLLS really hot, but tasty, and had this truffle sauce underneath that was yummy too. LOBSTER ROLL - this was good too, with a nice toasty bun and what made it stand out was this creme topping it had. Definitely one of my more unique meals recently, and I remember it fondly. Would definitely take my friends here if they were visiting.

I came here to catch up with a couple of friends and to my surprise they were pretty booked on a Wednesday afternoon, although we came the moment they opened we ended up sitting at the bar. This place is dimly lit and gives off an intimate setting. The staff was super attentive with our drinks and food and our waiter was very pleasant. Luckily, I came here with a friend who had an idea on what we should get. Disclaimer: it can get pretty pricey and the tapas don't fill you up even after 6 orders! Rating: 1 (I could do without) - 5 (heavenly sent) Now, we got the ceviche (3), oxtail spring rolls (5), plantain (4), 2 x lobster roll (4), scallops (4), chocolate mousse (5) and pop-rock popsicle (3) in that order. My friend was disappointed in the pop-rock Popsicle mainly because it wasn't assembled like the last time she came so the flavor profile was missing. This was suppose to be the star, but for me the star was the oxtail spring roll. It came through with the juiciness and crunch I expected and desired. Highly recommendeIn regards to the ceviche, I prefer Spanish style ceviche's lime flavor profile over the spiciness I got from theirs. Everything else was delicious and presented beautifully. For drinks, I recommend the Makgeolli (rice wine) if you like to drink without feeling your "drinking"

THIS WAS SO SO GOOD! I am so glad I finally got to try it because I loved pretty much all of the items. Here were some of my favorites: - corn dumplings (almost didn't order because it didn't sound veryappealing but after reading all the reviews we knew we had to get it and it was amazing!!) - gumbo (a little spicy but so good) - scallops (loved the sauce it comes in) Other items we ordered that were also good: - ceviche - beef tartare - noodles (really spicy!) Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu items!

YUMMM. Made a reservation about a day or two in advance for a Wednesday night dinner at 6:00. Didn't realize they open at 6, so we were the first people there haha. The restaurant filled up within the hour, though (and got a little too loud, honestly). Was surprised how much availability they have / how easy it is to snag a last minute reservation - especially since I've heard such good things. Had been to Thursday Kitchen twice & loved it, so I had high hopes (and MOKYO did not disappoint)! The corn dumplings were one of the best bites I've had in a whileeee! So good - could've easily had a whole order (or two) myself. The cauliflower was also DELICIOUS. It was crisped to perfection and so flavorful; probably the best cauliflower I've ever had (bc it didn't taste at all like cauliflower). The corn dumplings & cauliflower were my two must-orders!! Can't recommend enough. The yellowtail ceviche was fresh & had good flavors, but not sure if I necessarily need it again. The oxtail spring roll had a good crunch (it was too hot, temp-wise), but nothing life-changing. The steak was good and had a nice mushroom-y sauce; cooked perfectly medium rare. Probably would get again next time. I got some type of strawberry yuzu lemon-lime soda; kind of reminds me of Ramune. Perfect beverage to accompany the meal. Everything came out with perfect timing, coursed out, except our last dish (the cauli). Not sure if they had forgotten or what, but there was about a 20-30 minute wait for that dish after we had finished the previous one. However, it was so good & crisp that it blew me away (did not expect to like it so much) - was the perfect thing to end on!! Next time I would want to try the noodles and the lobster roll! Those seem to be some of the most popular dishes. I definitely will be back! Not sure whether I like MOKYO or Thursday Kitchen better -- it's a toss-up -- but the ability to make reservations at MOKYO is definitely preferable!

Cute date night spot. Get the noodles and corn dumplings a must! The lobster roll, oxtail spring rolls, and the plantain were good too. Ribs... not so much.

It's been a while since I've been to Mokyo but she is still a true gem in the East Village. A hip, semi-casual, but stylish Korean-inspired restaurant with fun takes on things like gumbo and lobster rolls, and incredible classics like the noodles and truffle dumplings. The cocktails are great, and the Capri Sun cocktails are still just as fun as they were before. The menu is limited but provides decent options for vegetarians, meat eaters, and pescatarians. Some of my favorite dishes this go around were the noodle, steak, and the broccoli rabe. Love that some of the classic menu items remained, and while they are the same and just as good as before, you can tell there have been tiny tweaks to the dishes that keep them relevant but exactly as good as they used to be. Love this spot and highly recommend a visit. Acoustics quality makes it a little hard to hear at times so, best for couples who've been dating a while or good friends catching up.
